Juniors
The WMGA encourages all junior girls to come out and enjoy the fun of golf and competition, no matter what level playing experience or ability.
We conduct two junior only tournaments: the Maureen Orcutt [36 holes-AJGA stars awarded] and the Junior Open [18 holes]. Both tournaments include a 9-hole division for junior girls without a USGA handicap index to participate in. It’s a great way for you to meet other junior girls who enjoy playing the game we love and keep up your competitive spirit.
2024 Tournament Dates (Registration opening April 3, 2024):
Maureen Orcutt Trophy Tournament – August 13-14 at White Beeches (AJGA Stars Awarded/Junior Golf Scoreboard, at the discretion of the AJGA)
Junior Girls’ Open – July 16th at The Milbrook Club, Westchester (Winner Exempt into North & South Junior Championship at Pinehurst, at the discretion of Pinehurst)
MARIE BIRDIE PARTNERSHIP
The WMGA Foundation is excited to announce our partnership with Marie Birdie, Inc. The partnership will underwrite our Girls to the Tee clinics, which provide free, expert instruction for girls ages 6 to 18. In addition, through our partnership, the WMGA Foundation will support the WMGA’s Junior Events, Maureen Orcutt and Junior Open, to ensure continued championship quality experiences for Junior Girl Golfers for minimal entry fees. Marie Birdie will also provide uniforms for the WMGA’s Junior Intercity Team.
Founded in 2021, Marie Birdie is a female-founded and owned golf and activewear brand for tween, teens, and beyond. Marie Birdie’s mission is to inspire, delight, and empower girls to enjoy an active lifestyle while playing golf. Like the WMGA Foundation, Marie Birdie looks to grow the game of golf for girls and women.
