The Golf Illustrated Trophy is a sterling silver cake basket made in 1809 in Sheffield, England.  It is the work of celebrated silversmith, Thomas Bradbury.  The trophy was donated to the WMGA by Sports Illustrated in 1922, and that is how the competition received its name.
